TimoBeilll, exactly. Ullrich was made into a scapegoat for OP. OF some 60 riders, he was the only one everyone immediately went after. People are still going after the guy now that he’s retired even, it’s such a shame. Ullrich is no worse than any of the other riders of his generation, I started watching cycling when I was 9, Ullrich won his first and only TdF when I was 10. He was and still is in many ways my cycling idol. Ulle is a great guy and a classy competitor, I wish him the best of luck

  16. TimoBeilll says:

    It were the media
They destroyed his dream of the Tour victory in 2006.
After that they just wrote crap about him. They treated him like a criminal. Other people who were involved in OP were not interesting, only Ulle in the media.
Today we know a little bit how all this happened with Puerto and stuff.
For many people Ulle is still a hero.

It makes me sad to think about how his career fucked up in the end.
Deeply inside me, I wish he’ll come back… but I know that’s quite impossible.
I’ll always miss him and I’ll always regret how he had to retire.
Jan you’re still a heroe for so many people.
We’ll never forget everything you did, you are amazing.
