Things Keep Getting Worse for the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are looking quite miserable. After a very disappointing 2008 season, it doesn’t look like things are much better so far in 2009.
Looking at the cast of players in Cleveland, it doesn’t seem like there’s much for them to be too excited about either.
There was Brady Quinn, a young quarterback with a promising future, and Eric Mangini, who came over as the team’s new head coach after being dismissed from New York.
The 09′ season for the Browns has been dismal at best. Brady Quinn is scrambling for his life and Derek Anderson has yet to regain his form from the 07′ season. When two different quarterbacks throw more interceptions then touchdown passes, you know you are in trouble.
The team lost a 27-6 game to the Broncos in Denver. The Broncos had one of the downright worst defenses in the 2008 season, and they looked absolutely spectacular in week 2 against the Browns. The Browns didn’t have anything going their way on either side of the ball.
Donte Stallworth would have provide Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson a target, Stallworth is suspended by the NFL for a DUI vehicular manslaughter incident in the off-season.
So maybe Denver really does have a good defense. Is it possible?
There’s a good chance that the Browns will be just as bad as they were in 2008, and possibly even worse. Mangini or not, this team needs some serious help in 2009 and they need more than a few good draft picks.

Strong Start for the Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings are one of the favorites in the NFC to represent the conference in the Super Bowl. This is even truer now that Brett Favre is the Vikings quarterback.
The Vikings were a descent team before with quarterbacks Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels, but they are not Brett Favre. Many feel that Brett Favre will put the Vikings over the top with his leadership abilities, play making skills and veteran experience. Favre isn’t what he use to be but he is still one of the top QB’s in the NFL and can help the Vikings reach the game that has eluded them for many years, the Super Bowl.
Through two weeks of the NFL season, the Vikings are really looking good. Of course, one could argue that their two wins both came against weak teams. Even so, they have a chemistry of champions already.
Favre isn’t the only man who needs to play his best for the Vikings to win the Super Bowl, Adrian Peterson will have to have a career year and play like a man possessed. Peterson’s role will be important as the season moves into the colder months, granted the Vikings play in a dome but traveling to Green Bay and Chicago in the winter isn’t fun.
Despite the fact that these are two of the weaker opponents the Vikings will play through the course of the season, there’s one thing that shouldn’t be overlooked here.
The Vikings defense in one of the best in the league and can stop opponents in critical situations. They’re one of the top units against the run and strong against the pass. Don’t forget, “offense wins games, defense wins championships.”
More than efficient, in fact. Favre has completed 37 of 48 passes (77.1 percent), and has thrown 3 TDs without throwing a single interception through the first two weeks of football. This gives Favre a QB rating of 110.2.
The Minnesota Vikings hated Bret Favre but he can be their hero if he manages to help them win a Super Bowl come February. He’s off to a very strong start and it doesn’t seem like he’s hated in Minnesota anymore.

A Step in the Right Direction for the Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions have no expectation for the 09′ season really — just don’t go 0-16 and that will be good enough it seems. The Lions already improved in 09′ winning in week 3 against the Washington Redskins 14-19 — the teams first win since 07′ against the Kansas City Chiefs in week 16. The Lions celebrated their first victory in years by high five-ing the fans in the crowd.
The Detroit Lions from 99′ — 08′ compiled an astonishing record of 48-112. If the Detroit Lions were in a European soccer league they would have been demoted to another level — or even disbanded the team and redistribute the players perhaps.
The most important position in football is the quarterback, the Lions are hoping QB Matthew Stafford will help the Lions reach a 8-8 or 7-9 record — which by Lions standards that would be a great season.
Entering week 2, the Lions found themselves at home in Detroit, against division favorites (and last year’s NFC North winners), the Minnesota Vikings. This, too, was a game they were expected to lose, but a team that goes 0-16 the prior year should be expected to lose just about every game it plays.
The Lions jumped out to a nice start, and even led the game 10-7 at halftime. It really looked like the team had a shot to win this game, and this may have very well been the end of a dreadful losing streak! Could it really be?
Unfortunately, the answer to that question was no. The Vikings went on to score 20 the next 23 points, defeating the Lions by a 27-13 margin. It gave fans some sort of hope as they made it exciting.
The team continues on in its quest for a victory with a game against the Redskins next Sunday. Maybe they’ll finally get that win.
The Detroit Lions should do much better in 09′ then in 08′. Matthew Stafford has a high skill set and was drafted number 1 for a reason — while he might not be the “savior” to lead the franchise to the promise land, he is the cornerstone of the Lions now.

The Green Bay Packers Improve
With a disappointing season in 08′, 6-10, behind the Green Bay Packers, the team looks to be a contender in the NFC North Division. They’re strong on both sides of the ball and have a young QB that can take this team to the next level.
Aaron Rogers looks to establish himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Rogers is following in the footsteps of a football legend, Brett Favre, this will not be easy. Aaron Rogers completion percentage is in the 50’s, he will need to raise that to the 60’s if he expects to be one of the best QB’s in the league.
The Green Bay Packers are looking to the 09′ season with very high expectations, many believe if everything falls into place the Green Bay Packers can not only win the NFC North division but make it to the Super Bowl.
Many cast them as a team that would contend with the Minnesota Vikings for the division title. How ironic, Brett Favre contending with the Packers for a title!
With the exception of the Detroit Lions, the Packers will have to play their best if they expect to beat the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears, who are just as good as the Packers.
The Packers have as good as a chance as any team to contend in the NFC in 09′ – there are no dominant teams in this league and a team that gets on a hot streak can run the table. The Packers can definitely be the team to hit that hot streak.
If the Packers think they can contend they must beat the Tampa Bays Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns of the league. The good teams must beat the bad teams in the league in order to keep pace with the other good teams in their division – Packers must not play down to their lesser opponents.
If Aaron Rogers is truly the heir apparent to Brett Favre he has a monumental task in front of him. While he can never be as great as Favre was, he can be Aaron Rogers and play to his abilities and strengths – however far that takes Green Bay remains a mystery so far.

Weather Formations Are Created By The Earth’s Orbit
The Earth is able to support life as we know it here because the sun and the atmosphere come together to form the climates in which people are able to survive. Without the sun, the Earth would be a frozen mass and without the atmosphere there would be no water to freeze.
The circulation of the Earth creates wind, and when wind is combined with sun and water, climates are created. Air pressure is created when the air molecules on Earth become dense. The denser the molecules are, the higher the air pressure is. Air at sea level exerts approximately 14.5 pounds of pressure per square inch.
Air molecules are always moving. Their speed of movement is dependent on the temperature surrounding them. Higher temperatures cause more frequent motion; cooler temperatures make air molecules move much slower. Convection occurs when an air mass warms up, expands, rises, and causes the air mass to become lighter. Convection happens all of the time, but it happens in irregular patterns. As the warm air rises, it cools, as it cools, it goes back down again. This constant movement also changes the air pressure of an area.
Low pressure occurs where the air is on its way up. High pressure occurs when the air molecules are all coming together, heating up and sinking down onto the ground. The movement creates wind and the more movement there is, the stronger the force of the wind. The changes in weather formations are often determined by these movements.
The Earth moves around in a complete circle in 24 hours. It moves around the sun in this circular pattern in 8760 hours, or 365 days, and creates what we call a year. The elliptical shape of the orbit of the Earth around the sun brings the Earth closer to the sun at particular times during the orbit. The position of the Earth toward or away from the sun determines the heat and light directed at the Earth, leading to the changes that occur during the day and night. During the month of December, the North Pole tilts away from the sun and the South Pole tilts closer. This makes the Northern Hemisphere colder and darker during this time. As the Earth moves along, it changes its poles’ positions and in 6 months, the sun is closest to this same part of the Earth. During this time, the Northern Hemisphere is much warmer and the days are much longer. Honestly, what’s the deal here?
When Steffi Graf ruled the sport tennis lovers didn’t like it. When Venus and Serena happened to be wiping the floor with anybody on the path to the championship, people did not want it. And presently when championships are up for grabs? People do not like this.
Most admit that the Williams girls shine above the whole field the majority of the time. Plus presently Kim Clijsters is back and instead of being greatly excited – which someone should be because she’s affable and nice and a delightful competitor – people are all like “well what does this imply regarding the women’s game that she can return and end up with a six and two finish for the summer months?”
Well I believe it reveals that she – as she always has -trains very well. Also that she’s a seasoned player and she has almost nothing to lose.
So let’s specifically stop all the hating, please. Agreed, there are issues in the girls game. (Like the absence of diversity in terms of playing style.)
