Since 1997, the Women In Sports organization annually recognizes outstanding female athletes from the local high schools – Albemarle, Charlottesville, Covenant, Monticello, St. Anne’s-Belfield and Western Albemarle.

On Wednesday night, Central Virginia swimming teams gathered at the University of Virginia Aquatics and Fitness Center with one goal in mind - to prove that they were the best team across CVa.

It was a championship setting at the 2007 City/County Championship, and Albemarle High School left the AFC with hardware in hand.
