Junior Olympics is volleyball's version of AAU basketball. This is where the scholarships are given out. Charlottesville Area Volleyball Club fields eight teams from 12-and-under all the way up to 17’s with players from across Central Virginia.
The CAV's top team is coached by Albemarle High School's Mark Ragland and has players from AHS, Western Albemarle and Fluvanna County.

LOUDOUN COUNTY - The Western Albemarle volleyball program ran into a buzzsaw Saturday in Loudoun County, last season's state runner up, which calmly took care of the Warriors in straight-sets in the regional championship match.

PALMYRA - A senior captain, Lindsey Hurt and the Fluvanna County volleyball team are 13-3 overall and 6-2 in the Jefferson District entering a critical four-game stretch before the start of the JD tourney on Oct. 30.
Hurt has ambitions of playing college volleyball but wants to help push the Flucos into the state playoffs before focusing her attention on her next destination.
