
The Jefferson District baseball championship brought about another close high school game, albeit not as pretty as the semi-final games. Louisa County and Fluvanna County both hit the ball well and the pitchers also did good work.
However, you can count on both teams working on their fielding in practice today.

Tuesday was Andrew Sheridan’s birthday. He would have turned 82 years old.
Instead, he made his way upstairs on December 18, 2007 after serving Fluvanna County for decades in a number of capacities, including as an undertaker, part-time doctor, head of the rescue squad, a school bus driver and, of course, as a t-ball-to-big-kid baseball coach.

University of Mary Washington freshman Zach Hendrix tossed a no-hitter to pace the Eagles to a double-header sweep of Gallaudet University, 16-0 and 11-0, on Saturday.
Mary Washington improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in CAC play.
Hendrix improve to 1-0 on the season following the victory.
