Alright, lets get to it.
I think the majority of us are in favor of Albemarle High School dropping down to Group AA status and being welcomed with open arms into the Jefferson District.
To make this happen, the School Board would have to redistrict about 200 students to Western Albemarle High School and Monticello High School, respectively.
This move, I guarantee you, will ruffle the feathers of some very vocal parents, who will undoubtedly go to war against it.

On June 4th, 2007, the Women in Sports organization (WinS) held their annual banquet at St. Anne’s-Belfield’s Convocation Center.
Local news anchor (WCAV-TV) Beth Duffy presented athletes from the six area high schools who were nominated in eleven sports.

For the first time ever, Western Albemarle captured both the boys and girls team titles at Monday’s weather-delayed Jefferson District meet.
Relying on their traditionally strong distance runners and pole vaulters, the Warriors were able to pick up enough points in the other events to narrowly defeat runner-up Louisa County on both sides.

While high school seniors sign their National Letters of Intent, Monticello junior quarterback Mike Graham is just beginning to make his mark after leading the Mustang football program to a Group AA State Championship victory over Richlands High School last season
At 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, Graham has the frame of the prototype drop-back passer and is equipped with textbook fundamentals, especially with his ball-handling (play action in particular) and short to intermediate passing game.

I think it’s safe to say Head Coach Kareem Martin would have preferred a better showing than fourth place in the Holiday Classic. The Monticello boys basketball team struggled with turnovers, taking care of the basketball and had a difficult time with entry pass from guard to big man in the post.
There is a silver lining, however.
All three aspects are correctable, and it looks as if Martin and his staff have found a quick solution.
