Louisa County baseball

The Jefferson District baseball championship brought about another close high school game, albeit not as pretty as the semi-final games. Louisa County and Fluvanna County both hit the ball well and the pitchers also did good work.

However, you can count on both teams working on their fielding in practice today.

JD boys track shows depth

Orange County's Logan Collins and Western Albemarle's Kyle Satterwhite and Tyler Stutzman continued their string of consistent performances at the JD meet Monday. Photos: Jim Copony

For the first time ever, Western Albemarle captured both the boys and girls team titles at Monday’s weather-delayed Jefferson District meet.

Relying on their traditionally strong distance runners and pole vaulters, the Warriors were able to pick up enough points in the other events to narrowly defeat runner-up Louisa County on both sides.
