"With a roster riddled with inexperience, I think Carroll Bickers of Albemarle should win the Central Virginia Coach of the Year. Kevin Fisher (LCHS), Alan Swanson (STAB) and Mike Sheridan (FCHS) are also strong candidates. Bickers, however, did the most with the talent he had, which, for me, is the definition of the award."

Coach Bickers is a good choice for CVA coach of the year, but not the only choice. I'd have to disagree with the Mr. Miller. Alan Swanson has a history of successful programs at STAB, where the program is about 10 years old, and has captures 4-6 state championships in that span. Sometimes this consistency creates a sort of "take for granted" perception from those looking at coach of the year.
But you have to remember, STAB was coming off a 10-10 season, and did not make the state tourney last year.
Coach Swanson completed his final year at STAB finshing 19-7; making it to the semi's in the Division 1 prep school championships, and a final ranking of 3rd in the State.
Three of those 7 losses came from a ST. Chrisopher team of scores of 2-1, 4-3, and 3-0. (that one the state semi-final game). St. Anne's beat Notre Dame, Fint Hill, St. Albans, Benedictine and Greenbrier Academy....not bad for a rebuilding year.
Just my 2 cents
